WE DID IT!!

For the past 6-weeks, the Mighty Writers South Philadelphia location has been hosting the Diamond Daughter Corporation, where we shared our Professional Prep Curriculum with an inspiring group of young ladies. Though they might only be in 7th to 10th grade, they impressed us with their maturity, grand ideas and phenomenal feedback each week. These ladies left us in awe with each response to their workbook questions.

On Tuesday November 14th, a limo donated by the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Philadelphia, picked us up at the Mighty Writers location and escorted us to a local restaurant, Rex 1516. We enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, exceptional service, and the ladies were able to showcase the etiquette techniques they learned the previous week.

By the end of the night, each young lady had the opportunity to stand at the center of the room. Angela Deery, our founder, presented each young lady with uplifting and inspiring words and a Certificate of Completion as well as a “Diamond” necklace; a take home reminder that they are a Diamond Daughter!

As we were finishing dessert, everyone took the time to share their favorite week out of the 6-week curriculum. For many of them it was week 4, where we talked about the importance of how to dress which included a little fashion show with outfits they put together. For others, their favorite was week 2, as they practiced their “power pose” and gained confidence simply by standing like the Super Woman that they are. The most touching moment was when one of the girls mentioned that week 1 she may have listed one person as her role model, but now she has many more to add to her list, as she pointed to each of the DDC board members.

Although it was our last night with this wonderful group of young ladies, it was a great night worth celebrating. We are so proud of these young ladies and want to wish them all of the best with their successful future paths.

Always remember you are a lady of Poise, Prestige, & Power. You are a Diamond Daughter!
